Envisat Satellite Loses Communication

European Satellite Space Agency Scientists Have Lost Contact With Envisat Satellite Which Has Been In Operation For Ten Years, It Main Purpose Was To Send Pictures Of Earth From Space. As An Example: Images From Oil Spills At Sea, Iceberg Hazards And Weather Forecasts.

Following the loss of communications, the satellite however appears to be in good physical condition, however communications and messages are no longer operational. Furthermore, the “safe mode” that ensures the solar panels point towards the sun may also be faulty or not operating. Currently, dedicated experts are working on how to solve the problem.

It appears this satellite wasn’t in fact designed to operate for as long as it has been, nevertheless the European Space Agency (ESA)  was confident that the satellite would be in full operation until 2014.
